Ostatnie wydarzenia na arenie międzynarodowej potwierdzają aspirację Chin do osiągnięcia statusu mocarstwa światowego. Oznacza to chęć zdominowania przez Pekin istniejących struktur ładu międzynarodowego, która wyraża się w próbie delegitymizacji Stanów Zjednoczonych jako hegemona. Zrozumienie działań Chin i wynikającego z nich ogólnego kierunku rozwoju sytuacji da się odczytać za pomocą teorii cykli hegemonicznych G. Modelskiego oraz teorii tranzycji potęgi A.F.K. Organskiego. W opracowaniu dokonano analizy rekonfiguracji ładu międzynarodowego w oparciu o 4 krytyczne punkty węzłowe koncepcji Modelskiego: wojnę hegemoniczną, dominację, delegitymizację i dekoncentrację. Kontekstem dla analizy wydarzeń bieżących odpowiadających fazie później delegitymizacji i dekoncentracji jest teoria tranzycji potęgi.

Recent events in the international arena confirm China's aspiration to become a world power. This means Beijing's desire to dominate the existing structures of international order, which is expressed in the attempt to delegitimize the United States as a hegemon. The understanding of China's actions and the general direction of developments resulting from them can be explained in terms of the Modelski's theory of hegemonic cycles and the Organsky's theory of the transition of the power. These theories allow to analyze the process of the existence and reconfiguration of international order based on four critical nodal points: hegemonic warfare, domination, delegitimisation and deconcentration. The context for the analysis of current events corresponding to the phase of delegitimisation and deconcentration is the theory of power transition.
