The exceptionally dynamic, quantitative development of tertiary education has become a fact, and the necessity to take the needs of labour market into account in the process of academic education seems inevitable. Preparing students for employment is an important task of academic education, as the demand for the qualifications obtained via tertiary education is still increasing. Employers seek employees who have some particular competences and whose qualifications are adjusted to the kind of enterprise. In addition, soft skills also affect whether the person becomes employed or not. Unfortunately, academic education does not take the needs of labour market into account fully enough. Cooperation of universities and economics, which begins at the stage of one’s education, is one of the ways of improving the aforementioned situation.

Niezwykle dynamiczny, ilościowy rozwój szkolnictwa wyższego stał się faktem, a konieczność uwzględniania w kształceniu akademickim potrzeb rynku pracy wydaje się nieodwracalna. Ważnym zadaniem edukacji akademickiej jest przygotowanie studentów do zatrudnienia. Wzrasta bowiem zapotrzebowanie na kwalifikacje uzyskiwane drogą ukończenia studiów wyższych. Poszukiwani są pracownicy o określonych kompetencjach i kwalifikacjach dostosowanych do prowadzonej działalności. O zatrudnieniu decydują też kompetencje miękkie. Kształcenie akademickie w niewystarczającym zakresie uwzględnia jednak potrzeby rynku pracy. Jednym ze sposobów poprawy sytuacji w tym względzie jest współpraca uczelni z gospodarką już na etapie kształcenia.
