The Neyslel küriyen-ü sonin bičig (“News of the Capital”) holds a significant position in the history of the Mongolian press. Regarding the history of its first publication, we know that in 1915 some Mongolian intellectuals started publishing it in the Classical Mongolian language on weekly basis in the printing office of the Russian Tsar’s Consulate’s Information and Technique Office. For the first time, the date of publication was briefly discussed by Deleg Gendenjamtsyn (1924–1992) in his book entitled “Brief History of Mongolian Periodicals” (Mong. Mongolyn togtmol khevleliin tüükhen toim, 1965). Thereafter, many scholars followed the publication date proposed by Deleg. This question is discussed further in this paper based on the specimens of Neyslel küriyen-ü sonin bičig kept in the Library of the Department of Turkic Studies and Inner Asian Peoples, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Warsaw and in the Archive of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracow, together with the detailed report on the collections of this newspaper in Poland.

It is not easy to properly aesimate the value of interpolacionism methodology. On the one hand, it caused a great diffidence among romanists analyzing Roman law sources. On the other, however, its subtility even nowadays remains respect- able. Authors of texts in the collection of papers entitled “Gradenwitz, Riccobono und die Entwicklung der Interpolationenkritik” tried to explore that topic with presenting the careers of specific professors: German Otto Gradenwitz and Italian Salvatore Riccobono. The first one is known as the pioneer of interpolacionism with his monography “Interpolationen in den Pandekten” from 1889. The second was inspired by the new method, but then raised its profound criticism, followed by many other Roman law scholars. Some texts focus instead on the reception of interpolacionism among romanists of specific countries, such as Spain or Great Britain. Suprisingly France was ommitted, not to even mention Poland, Czechia or Hungary. The same concerns important scholars that were adherents of inter- polacionism (I. Alibrandi, F. Eisele, E. Albertario)

The paper is an attempt to sum up efforts being made in the field of Quranic Studies to come up with a critical edition of the text of the Quran – the holy book of Islam – basing on oldest, extant Quranic manuscripts and secondary literature, and this in order to enable text criticism based on source texts. The quest for authographic / interpretative text-forms of the Qur’anic revelations is an attempt to reach back as far as possible into the earliest history of Islam. The reconstruction of a critical text of the Qur’an, i.e. a (single or multiple) original version(s) of the text from which all subsequent manuscript versions and readings stem, is an ongoing quest for scholars of Quranic studies, in the Western and Eastern hemisphere. And that is because merely the process of studying the manuscripts delivers us unique insight into Quranic history – historical insight, dogmatic insight and literary insight.

The article presents issues related to the publishing fate of the entire literary output of Stanisław Grzesiuk. It consists of three autobiographical novels: Pięć lat kacetu [Five years of a camp], Boso, ale w ostrogach [Barefoot, but in spurs] and Na marginesie życia [On the Margins of Life]. The editions that were published during the writer’s lifetime were subjected to various types of interference. The most important factor that influenced the final form of the text was institutional censorship. In addition, the author changed his works under the pressure of the publisher, the family and as part of the implementation of the court settlement. The editors of the new edition of Grzesiuk’s works, which was published in 2018 by the Pruszyński i S-ka publishing house, made an attempt to reconstruct texts from before non-author’s changes. The comparison of these editions with the first editions and manuscripts proves that the publishing house has made many incomprehensible decisions that may have an impact on the incorrect reception of the author’s message.
