Badania nad testami psychologicznymi prowadzone są od wielu lat. Jak pokazuje historia, rozwój narzędzi diagnostycznych z jednej strony spleciony jest z rozwojem wiedzy teoretycznej, zaś z drugiej odzwierciedla zmiany potrzeb społecznych i zarządzania w obszarze informacji o człowieku, ewentualnych przyczynach jego zachowań i możliwościach. Artykuł koncentruje się na uchwyceniu obrazu zmian w rozwoju wiedzy o testach psychologicznych, wykorzystywanych przez zarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi. Opracowanie może być traktowane jedynie jako wprowadzenie do tematu i zbiór podstawowych zagadnień. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie zarysu linii rozwoju teorii i praktyki związanej z testami osobowości używanymi w organizacjach. Tłem analizy są zmiany, jakie zachodziły w wiedzy o osobowości. Tekst skoncentrowano na wybranych z literatury przedmiotu kwestiach.

Research into psychological tests has been underway for many years. History shows that the development of diagnostic tools is intertwined with the development of theoretical knowledge, while at the same time reflecting changes in social and management needs in the area of information about Man and the possible reasons behind his behavior and potential. This article concentrates on capturing a picture of change in the development of knowledge on psychological tests and their application in human resource management. However, it can only be treated as an introduction to the subject and a collection of basic questions. The objective of this article is the presentation of an outline of the development path of theory and practice linked with personality tests as used in organizations. The backdrop for the analysis is change taking place in knowledge about personality. The paper focuses on matters selected from topical literature.
