RFN de facto po wojnie stała się krajem migracyjnym, ale świadomą politykę migracyjną, nakierowaną na integracje przybyszy, zaczęła prowadzić dopiero po zjednoczeniu kraju. Szczególnie rząd kanclerz Angeli Merkel politykę migracyjną wyniósł do rangi priorytetowej na swojej agendzie. Artykuł analizuje zarówno ten ostatni strumień poczynań rządowych, jak i dość dyletanckie próby zapanowania nad problemem migracyjnym przez wcześniejsze gabinety (zachodnio)niemieckie.

The Federal Republic of Germany turned into a migration country after World War II, but it was only after the German reunification that it started to implement carefully thought out migration policies, aimed at the integration of the newcomers into the mainstream society. Migration policy have been treated as a priority mainly by the government of the Chancellor Angela Merkel. This paper examines the East German Government’s recent activities in this field, as well as previous (West German) governments’ attempts at solving the migration-related problems.
