Artykuł przedstawia stosunek polskich władz komunistycznych do ks. Franciszka Blachnickiego i Ruchu Światło‑Życie, wyrażony w specjalnym opracowaniu dyrektora Urzędu do spraw Wyznań w Warszawie Aleksandra Merkera. Raport był przeznaczony na użytek wewnętrzny pracowników urzędu, a także polskiego aparatu bezpieczeństwa i przywódców partyjnych. Aleksander Merker opisał w nim postać ks. Blachnickiego oraz genezę i główne założenia Ruchu Światło‑Życie. Przedstawił symbolikę i organizację ruchu. Bardzo ważną częścią opracowania dyrektora Urzędu do spraw Wyznań są wnioski, w których określał duże zagrożenie wynikające z rozwoju ruchu tworzącego elity organizacji katolickich i skutecznie konkurującego z kontrolowanymi przez władze komunistyczne organizacjami młodzieżowymi, szczególnie Związkiem Harcerstwa Polskiego.

The article presents the attitude of Polish Communist authorities towards Father Franciszek Blachnicki and the Light‑Life Movement as expressed in the special report prepared by Aleksander Merker, Director of the Office for Religious Affairs in Warsaw. The document was intended for internal use by the Office’s employees as well as Polish security apparatus and party leaders. In the report, Aleksander Merker described the figure of Fr. Blachnicki as well as the origins and main assumptions of the Light‑Life Movement. He illustrated the symbolism and structure of the Movement. In the conclusions, a very important part of the report, the director of the Office for Religious Affairs identified major threat associated with the development of the Movement which created élites of Catholic organisations and successfully competed with Communist party‑controlled youth organisations, especially the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association.
