The article is the fi rst comprehensive biography of a distinguished Polish gnomonist, Feliks Przypkowski, the progenitor of a family of constructors and collectors of sundials. The author of the article used many unpublished materials from the archives of the Przypkowski family, collected in the Przypkowski Museum in Jędrzejów, where an impressive collection of sundials was gathered.
