The article is devoted to issues related to specificity of culinary literature. A particular focus has been put on the book Culinary midrash by Aleksandr Okuń and Igor Guberman in which aesthetic an hedonistic functions outweigh its functionality. The article analyses game motives presented from the perspecitive of overlapping genre conventions, breaking the rules of readers’ expectations, which is illustrated with intertextual threads and puns. It also discusses illustrations by Olga Prilucka which intensify humorous tone of the book.

W artykule rozpatrywane są zagadnienia związane ze specyfiką literatury kulinarnej. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na książkę Kulinarny midrasz Aleksandra Okunia i Igora Gubermana, w której funkcje estetyczna i hedonistyczna bezsprzecznie dominują nad jej wartością użytkową. Przedmiotem analizy stały się motywy gry, które opisane zostały z punktu widzenia przenikania konwencji gatunkowych i łamania reguł oczekiwań odbiorców, a także zobrazowane na przykładach wątków intertekstualnych i zabaw słownych. Ponadto w artykule omówiono ilustracje Olgi Priluckiej, które w znacznym stopniu intensyfikują humorystyczny wydźwięk utworu.
