W tekście Demokratyzacja instytucji krytyki teatralnej wskutek upowszechnienia Internetu autorka bada krytykę teatralną, odrzucając najczęściej stosowane perspektywy literaturoznawcze, a przyjmując metodologie kulturoznawcze i socjologiczne. Przedstawia nadzieje aktywistów co do rozwoju kultury uczestnictwa, które wiązali oni z technologią 2.0. na początku XXI wieku oraz pokazuje jak zmieniło się w tym kontekście ich postrzeganie Internetu. Wskazuje na korzyści dla teatru i społeczeństwa, które mogłyby wyniknąć wskutek demokratyzacji instytucji krytyki teatralnej. Następnie, oddzielając krytykę teatralną w Internecie od internetowej krytyki teatralnej, dokonuje przeglądu rozmaitych praktyk kulturowych reprezentujących przedmiot jej badań. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań wskazuje, w których obszarach i w jakim stopniu krytyka teatralna jest instytucją demokratyczną. Pokazuje, że wbrew powszechnemu przekonaniu Internet nie jest przestrzenią wolności i nie sprzyja budowie kultury uczestnictwa w takim stopniu, w jakim życzyliby sobie jej orędownicy.

In this paper, the author analyses the issue of theater criticism rejecting the most common literary perspective, and accepting cultural and sociological methodologies. The author expresses the activists’ hope for the development of a culture of participation which they associated with technology 2.0. at the beginning of the twenty-first century and shows how it has changed. She points to the benefits for the theater and the society which could arise as a result of the democratization of institutions of theatrical criticism. Then, separating theater criticism on the Internet from website theater criticism, she reviews the various cultural practices representing the object of her research. Based on the survey, she indicates in which areas and to what extent theater criticism constitutes a democratic institution nowadays. She shows that, contrary to popular belief, the Internet is not a space of freedom, neither is it conducive to building a culture of participation to the extent that its proponents would have liked it to.
