The article is devoted to the problem of a sacramental marriage, which, through the imitation of Christ becomes an image and reflection of the mystic unity of Christ and the Church. Marriage is a space in which the saving work of Christ takes visible form. The author emphasizes the presence of this problem in the works of two popes: John Paul II and Benedict XVI. As a union of love marriage is a sacramental symbol of God’s covenant with humanity and hence it was incorporated into the Christ’s mystery of salvation.
