Zgodnie z licznymi prognozami, turystyka dzieci i młodzieży w niedalekiej przyszłości zanotuje znaczny wzrost popularności. XXI wiek opisywany jest jako epoka intensywnego rozwoju turystyki młodzieży i coraz częściej także dzieci (Przecławski 1996). Aktualnie można stwierdzić, że w krajach rozwiniętych dzieci i młodzież stają się grupą najbardziej aktywną turystycznie. Zdecydowanie bardziej aktywną niż przeciętni „dorośli” turyści, a nawet niż osoby przynależące do tzw. „trzeciego wieku”. Podobny trend zauważalny jest już w Polsce (Alejziak 2000). Publikacja ma charakter przeglądowy i dotyczy wybranych aspektów zorganizowanej turystyki dzieci i młodzieży szkolnej w Polsce. Artykuł opiera się na analizie literatury przedmiotu, dotyczącej turystyki dzieci i młodzieży szkolnej, w zakresie działalności turystyczno-krajoznawczej w szkolnictwie oraz aktywności turystycznej w wieku szkolnym.

Pursuant to numerous forecasts, tourism of children and youths will not in the years to come a considerable growth of popularity. The 21st century is described as an epoch of the intensive development of tourism of youths and more and more often also of children (Przecławski 1996). Currently, one may say that in the developed countries children and youths become the most active group in tourism terms. Definitely more active than the average ‘adult’ tourists and even than the individuals belonging to the so-called third age. A similar trend is already noticeable in Poland (Alejziak 2000). The publication is of the overview nature and it concerns the selected aspects of organised tourism of children and school youths in Poland. The article is based on a review of the subject literature on tourism of children and school youths as regards tourist and sightseeing activities in the system of education as well as tourist activities at the school age.
