Mountain tourism has lately become a more and more popular way of spending free time. One of the reasons for this is the constantly developing infrastructure. The Podhale Region and Tatra Mountains are very popular travel destination. However, the forms of tourism and the profile of a typical tourist have changed over the years. First, Zakopane had become a health resort, where it was hiking in the mountains which brought people here. Afterwards, it was artists coming here looking for the perfect atmosphere. Finally, it was a place to visit for skiing and cycling. The main goal of this research was to characterize the typical, contemporary, tourist visiting Zakopane and Tatra National Park. Finding out the profile of tourists will be helpful in understanding the visitors and, at the same time, it will pave the way for offering services which those visitors expect. This will have a positive influence on the development of tourism in the region, bringing benefits for both the tourists and the local community. During the research, the following methods and tools were used: a diagnostic survey and participant observation. The research took place in Zakopane and Tatra National Park in September 2013.

The article presents segmentation of tourist products buyers in the Luboń Wielki area. The results are shown in the context of attempts to create market for tourist services in Beskid Wyspowy. Tourist profile was created based on the monitoring of tourism traffic and surveys, including the perception of the image of this part of the mountains. Elements registered as essential in the planning and development of tourist services are: the existence of two peaks in the daily presence of tourists, predominance of individual hikers, specialisation for cycling routs and the close relationship between the intensity of tourist traffic and meteorological conditions. There are significant differences in terms of planned and actual traffic on tourist routs, without relation to the location near the potential tourist attractions. Tourists more often consider as such PTTK shelters and approach of the Rabka spa, than for example, the values of Inanimate Nature Reserve of Luboń Wielki.

This article is the study of socio-economic profile and tourist activities undertaken by visitors Sanok. The main purpose of the article was an attempt to answer the question of whether tourists visit in Sanok consisting belong to the category of cultural tourists, and that cultural tourism can be considered as a real factor in the development of Sanok. This problem is discussed in the broader context of the growing importance of culture as a factor in tourism development and the relationship between cultural and leisure tourism. The results presented in the article show that visits to cultural object in Sanok should be treated primarily as a complement to leisure tourism in the Bieszczady Mountains, which makes the prospects of tourism development in Sanok be associated with tourism in Bieszczady

Artykuł jest studium profilu społeczno-ekonomicznego i aktywności turystycznych podejmowanych przez odwiedzających Sanok. Głównym celem artykułu była próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy turyści składający wizytę w Sanoku należą do kategorii turystów kulturowych oraz czy turystyka kulturowa może być traktowana jako rzeczywisty czynnik rozwoju Sanoka. Problem ten jest omawiany w szerszym kontekście wzrastającego znaczenia zasobów kultury jako czynnika rozwoju turystyki oraz relacji pomiędzy turystyką kulturową i wypoczynkową. Wyniki badań prezentowanych w artykule wskazują, że wizyty w obiektach kultury w Sanoku należy traktować przede wszystkim jako dopełnienie turystyki wypoczynkowej w Bieszczadach, co powoduje, że perspektyw rozwoju turystyki w Sanoku należy wiązać z turystyką bieszczadzką.
