The outbreak of war in Ukraine, caused by the invasion of Russia, had a catastrophic impact on both the everyday life of the inhabitants and the conditions of the economy. According to the World Bank, the conflict has inhibited economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. The war contributed to the inhibition of the development of many industries, including the tourism industry, whose total revenues from tourism in 2020 amounted to over USD 374 million. As a result of military operations, not only everyday utility facilities are destroyed, but also the country's tourist attractions. Despite the ongoing conflict, many tour operators offer tourists not only trips to places considered safe, e.g., Lviv, but also trips to crime scenes (war tourism). The aim of the article is to assess the possibilities of tourism development in Ukraine during the crisis and just after its potential end. The goal was achieved through a literature review and analysis of published secondary data.

Wybuch wojny w Ukrainie wywołany inwazją Rosji miał katastrofalny wpływ zarówno na życie codzienne mieszkańców, jak również na kondycję gospodarki. Według Banku Światowego konflikt zahamował ożywienie gospodarcze Ukrainy po pandemii Covid-19. Wojna przyczyniła się do zastopowania rozwoju wielu gałęzi przemysłu, w tym także branży turystycznej, której łączne przychody z turystyki w 2020 roku wyniosły ponad 374 mln dolarów. W wyniku działań wojennych niszczone są nie tylko obiekty użyteczności publicznej, ale także atrakcje turystyczne kraju. Pomimo trwającego konfliktu wielu touroperatorów oferuje turystom nie tylko wycieczki do miejsc względnie uznawanych za bezpieczne, np. do Lwowa, ale także wyjazdy do miejsc zbrodni wojennych (turystyka wojenna). Celem artykułu jest ocena możliwości rozwoju turystyki w Ukrainie w okresie kryzysu i tuż po jego potencjalnym zakończeniu. Cel ten osiągnięto poprzez przegląd literatury i analizę opublikowanych danych wtórnych.
