This paper raises the issue of the nomenclature of cheeses (tyronyms). The analysed onymic corpus comprises 200 proper names of cheeses produced by the Polish local cheese dairies and organic farms. The focal point of this discussion is the description of the motivation behind modern tyronyms and the factors determining the nomenclature. Attention is also paid to the formal structure of these names and the ways of their formation. These explorations are of synchronous nature.

Článek se zabývá problematikou tyronym, tj. vlastních jmen sýrů. Analyzovaný onymický material zahrnuje 200 vlastních jmen sýrů vyráběných polskými lokálními sýrárnami a ekologickými farmami. Hlavním cílem je popis motivace moderních tyronym a faktorů, které ovlivňují vznik těchto pojmenování. Zvýšená pozornost je věnována formální struktuře tyronym a způsobům jejich tvoření. Jde o výzkumy synchronního charakteru.
