el presente texto inicia identificando como problema las posibles relaciones entre la universidad y las comunidades y cómo ello conduce a pensar en otras perspectivas para la estructuración del currículo de educación ambiental en la educación superior. Este cuestionamiento es el que motiva a la reflexión presentada en torno a la forma de entender la pedagogía ambiental y la didáctica ambiental. Así, se asume la comprensión del ambiente, la universidad y la educación desde la complejidad, específicamente, desde la auto-eco-organización; lo que permite establecer algunos principios como la función de la universidad en el sistema ambiental, la naturaleza de los fundamentos de los procesos educativos en la universidad, formas de construir los objetos de estudio en la investigación universitaria, la comprensión de la cultura y alternativas epistemológicas

The present text approaches the problem of environmental education in the context of relations between the University (creator of educational initiatives) and communities (receptors of such proposals). In this article the author assumes the understanding of the environment, education and environmental teaching, the role of the university in the environmental system, and the nature of the creation of proposals for environmental education
