Przedmiotem artykułu jest status prawny związków zawodowych Straży Granicznej, jako szczególnej grupy zawodowej należącej do tzw. służb mundurowych. Na tle historii i rozwoju przedstawiona została specyficzna struktura związków zawodowych tej formacji ze zwróceniem szczególnej uwagi na ograniczenia praw związkowych i przyczyny tych ograniczeń. W ramach podjętego zagadnienia omówione zostało ograniczone prawo koalicji oraz poruszona została kwestia całkowitego pozbawienia funkcjonariuszy Straży Granicznej prawa do strajku. Wskazane również zostały alternatywne wobec strajku, formy rozwiązywania sporów zbiorowych.

The article deals with the legal status of the Border Guard trade unions since this unique occupational group is one of the so-called uniformed services. the unique structure of the trade unions functioning within this service is presented in the light of their history and development, with a special focus on restrictions to union privileges and their causes. For example, the issue of a restricted right of coalition is raised as well as the lack of the right to strike. Also, methods of solving collective disputes are indicated as solutions alternative to strike action.
