The paper presents the changing social and cultural conditions that are the catalysts of changes in the structures of modern organisations. In recent years the Polish society has been undergoing a transformation from a (relatively) culturally homogeneous population into a heterogeneous one. Multiculturality in employment structures poses new challenges for Human Resources management, where integration is one of the key areas. The aim of the article is to discuss the potential barriers and factors that facilitate integration of immigrants of Ukrainian, Belarussian, and Georgian origin, who belong to three minorities that are most dynamically settling in Poland. The paper presents the results of a pilot study in form of a focused group interview with the participation of foreign employees who represent the aforementioned nationalities. The conducted research constitutes a preliminary stage for further, in-depth studies.

W artykule przybliżono zmieniające się uwarunkowania społeczno-kulturowe, które są katalizatorem zmian w strukturach współczesnej organizacji. Na przestrzeni ostatnich lat społeczeństwo w Polsce ulega przeobrażeniom z (względnie) kulturowo homogenicznego w heterogeniczne. Wielokulturowość w strukturach zatrudnienia stawia nowe wyzwania przed zarządzaniem zasobami ludzkimi, w którym kluczowym obszarem jest integracja. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie potencjalnych barier i ułatwień w integracji migrantów pochodzenia ukraińskiego, białoruskiego i gruzińskiego, którzy stanowią trzy najbardziej dynamicznie osiedlające się w Polsce mniejszości narodowe. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania pilotażowego w postaci zogniskowanego wywiadu grupowego z udziałem cudzoziemskich pracowników reprezentujących wymienione narodowości. Przeprowadzone badanie stanowi fazę wstępną do dalszych, pogłębionych dociekań naukowych.

The spiritual life constitutes an integral experience of any person being led by the Holy Spirit toward full communion with God. It is never something abstract, divorced from Sitz im Leben, in either the psychological aspect or the socio-cultural dimension, thus it always bears certain signs of one’s temperament, environment, and history. The present paper proposes a methodology of research into the natural basis of the spiritual life (psychological and socio-cultural), which influences the way God’s grace is received and experienced. The natural structures of the spiritual life constitute the ground, which is submitted to God’s salvific action and bears fruit in various forms. The description of the spiritual life demands the use of the appropriate methodology, which can be based on the combination of the doctrinal-sapiential (deductive) approach and the existential-anthropological (inductive) approach. An important auxiliary role in the description of the spiritual phenomenon can be played by psychological methods, for instance those that derive from the psycho-biographical approach, which allows us to capture what is unique in human functioning.

Narracje opracowane w poniższym artykule zostały wykonane w ramach projektu „Wspieramy seniora w środowisku lokalnym – kultura elementem tożsamości starszego człowieka”, realizowanego w Dziennym Domu Pomocy Lokalnego Centrum Wsparcia w Gdańsku w 2016 roku. Wyrosły one z dostrzeganych przeze mnie potrzeb seniorów w opowiadaniu swej przeszłości, dzieleniu się nią i jednocześnie porządkowaniu jej, godzeniu się na jej elementy trudne, których pa- mięć została na zawsze utwierdzona w historii człowieka. Zadaniem, które dostrzegam, jest również potrzeba spojrzenia na własną przeszłość z próbą refleksji nad tym, co daje moc i siłę do życia. Innymi słowy, kto i/lub co pozwala mi żyć, a nawet więcej, chcieć żyć i cieszyć się z życia? Czym jest kategoria resilience w moim życiu? Pozostając pod wrażeniem sił jednostek, których historie obfitujące w bolesne momenty, potrafiły powiedzieć: chce mi się żyć, weszłam w relację, pytając o przeszłość i refleksję nad nią. Podjęłam też próbę określenia źródeł pozwalających zachować opisywaną poniżej prężność, zdolność do regeneracji. Mając na względzie treści powyższe, przyjmuję próbę ukazania doświadczenia rezyliencji narratorów za cel mojego artykułu.

The narratives included in this article were collected within the framework of the project „We Support Senior Citizens in the Local Environment – Culture as an Element of the Identity of the Elderly”, implemented in the Daily Care Home of the Local Support Center in Gdansk in 2016. They are the result of the author’s personal observations of seniors being in need of telling their past, sharing it, and at the same time sorting it out, and reconciling themselves with the difficult moments in their lives. There is also a need for reflection on one’s past, which gives power and strength to go on in life. In other words, who and/or what makes you want to live and even enjoy life? What is resilience in my life? Remaining impressed by the power of their stories, the stories of people who in the moments of difficulty and pain were able to say: ‘I want to live’, and asking them to reflect on the past, I have come to realise what it is that determines the sources to keep the resilience described below and the ability to regenerate.

Celem artykułu jest zbadanie roli i wpływu uwarunkowań społecznych na rozwój przedsiębiorczości w świetle doświadczeń USA. Zarówno socjologia jak i kultura odgrywają ważną rolę i wywierają znaczący wpływ na stymulację rozwoju przedsiębiorczości w USA. W publikacji położono szczególny nacisk na kluczowe zmienne wykorzystywane w badaniach dotyczących przedsiębiorczości, takie jak: płeć, rasa, wiek i wykształcenie (czynniki społeczne), ich wpływ na przedsiębiorczość oraz rolę w rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa. Uwagę poświęcono również wpływowi czynników kulturowych na krajobraz przedsiębiorczości.

The purpose of this paper is to study the role and the influence of social determinants on development of entrepreneurship in the light of experiences of the United States - a cradle of entrepreneurship and innovation. Both sociology and culture play an important role and highly influence the stimulation of development of American entrepreneurship. The paper puts special emphasis on the key variables in traditional entrepreneurial studies such as: gender, race, age, and education (social measures), their influence on entrepreneurship and role in enterprise development. It is also concerned with the influence of culture on entre-preneurial landscape.
