The paper seeks to explore a practical application of Natural Semantic Metalanguage in defining two core concepts in computer programming, i.e. the concept of a variable and the concept of a constant. The investigation of both programming concepts is carried out with reference to Apple’s Swift programming language, which is now the dominant language in creating applications designed for Apple’s devices. The explications of a variable and a constant developed in this paper are tentative definitions of the most fundamental functionalities behind the two programming concepts. They are meant to ease the learning experience of programming enthusiasts who are at the early stages of their learning path.

Software localization is an integral part of a business process as long as a company wants to sell their software products on a global scale. The purpose of the following article is to provide information about some key features of the development and publishing process that have a significant impact on digital game localization from English into Slovak. The selected features are based on a study by M. Kabát on localization aspects of non-gaming software that are here adapted to digital game localization, and on the author’s practical experience. Each key feature is briefly introduced and its impact on digital game localization is described. Where necessary, examples are provided. Other than presenting key features of digital game localization, the intent behind this paper is to spread information on digital game localization as I believe that, e.g., developers should be more informed on this topic to create more effective cooperation with localizers and in that way higher quality localization.

W artykule dokonano analizy przestrzennej wybranych zagadnień związanych z ochroną środowiska, są to: przestrzenne zróżnicowanie kraju w zakresie stopnia zanieczyszczenia środowiska, przestrzenne zróżnicowanie kraju w zakresie podejmowanych działań proekologicznych, przestrzenne zróżnicowanie kraju w zakresie ponoszonych nakładów na środki trwałe służące ochronie środowiska, przestrzenne zróżnicowanie kraju w zakresie kształtowania się PKB/os. Wykorzystując metody z zakresu wielowymiarowej analizy porównawczej zbudowano rankingi wytypowanych zjawisk złożonych. Otrzymane rankingi poddano procedurze porównawczej za pomocą miary mpq.

The paper present spatial analysis of chosen phenomena related with protection of environment in Poland, particularly: spatial differentiation of voivodships with respect to the degree of pollution of environment, spatial differentiation of voivodships with respect to the activities undertaken within ecology, spatial differentiation of voivodships with respect to the costs engaged to cover fixed assets used in environment protection, spatial differentiation of voivodships within the level of gross domestic product per capita. With the implementation of multidimensional comparative analysis ranking arrangements for chosen complex phenomena were constructed. The final arrangements underwent the comparing procedure by the mpg measure.

This study is the first research outline in Polish science on the application of mathematical tools in labour law. It shows that mathematical tools in labour law have an objectively different nature and, as a result, also a different dimension (meaning). These include such mathematical tools as: variable and constant, algorithms, game theory, probability, function, etc. It thus makes evident that labour law is strongly anchored in mathematics, as – without mathematical tools – it is not possible to fully, comprehensively, holistically protect people in an employment relationship.

Przedmiotowe opracowanie stanowi pierwszy w nauce polskiej zarys badawczy dotyczący stosowania narzędzi matematycznych w prawie pracy. Wskazuje, że matematyczne narzędzia w prawie pracy mają przedmiotowo różny charakter i w efekcie końcowym także różny wymiar (znaczenie). Są to między innymi takie narzędzia matematyczne, jak: zmienna i stała, algorytmy, teoria gier, prawdopodobieństwo, funkcja itp. Unaocznia zatem, że prawo pracy jest silnie zakotwiczone w matematyce, gdyż bez matematycznych narzędzi nie można w pełni, kompleksowo, holistycznie chronić osoby pozostające w stosunku pracy.
