Artykuł zawiera analizę komunikacyjnych funkcji partykuły w istocie – jako operatora hierarchizacji treści oraz metaoperatora perswazji. Działanie powyższe wynika z semantyki partykuły, w której tkwi polemika z innymi sądami. Sąd dany wraz z partykułą reprezentuje prawdę-istotę (prawdę z głębszego poziomu rzeczywistości) w odróżnieniu od prawdy-wyglądu (zjawiska postrzeganego zmysłowo).

The text includes an analysis of the communication functions of the particle “w istocie” – as a content hierarchy operator and a persuasive metaoperator. This action results from the semantics of the particle in which there is a polemic with other opinions. The judgement given with the particle represents the truth-essence (the truth from the deeper level of reality) as opposed to the truth-appearance (the phenomenon perceived sensually).
