Usually an exhibition takes several years to be created. The curator responsible for it carries out queries and research, thanks to which the topic presented to the guests is presented in a broad historical and cultural context. The exhibition “Anything Goes Museum”, curated by children and organised by the National Museum in Warsaw, was created within six months. The topics chosen by the young curators (aged between 6 and 14 ) are universal questions about the definition of fear, the relationships between people and the world of nature, heroism, and the changes that the world constantly undergoes. The curators prepared this exhibition in an emotional way – it was an entirely novel approach to what an exhibition should look like. This experience allowed both the museum staff and the young curators to get to know each other better and look at each other from a different perspective than usual. This museum and educational experiment is a participatory project which fully empowered the children, who represent the most significant group of museum visitors.

Zazwyczaj wystawa powstaje kilka lat. Przygotowujący ją kurator prowadzi kwerendy i badania naukowe, dzięki którym prezentowany muzealnym gościom temat można poznać w szerokim kontekście historycznym i kulturowym. Przygotowana przez dzieci wystawa „W Muzeum wszystko wolno” w Muzeum Narodowym w Warszawie powstawała ponad pół roku. Poruszone przez młodych kuratorów (6–14 lat) tematy mają charakter pytań uniwersalnych o to czym jest lęk, jakie relacje łączą ludzi ze światem natury, o bohaterstwo czy też zmiany jakim ciągle podlega świat. Przez kuratorów muzealnych wystawa została przygotowana emocjonalnie – było to spotkanie z zupełnie nowym podejściem do tego jak powinna wyglądać ekspozycja. Doświadczenie pozwoliło zarówno pracownikom muzeum jak i młodym kuratorom poznać się i spojrzeć na siebie z zupełnie innej niż zazwyczaj perspektywy. Ten muzealno-edukacyjny eksperyment to projekt partycypacyjny, który całkowicie oddał moc sprawczą w ręce osób stanowiących największą część muzealnych gości, czyli dzieci.
