Odkrywanie lokalnego dziedzictwa kulturowego jest jednym z naczelnych zadań muzeów regionalnych. Po przemianach końca XX wieku stało się możliwe badanie i przedstawianie wielu przemilczanych wcześniej aspektów przeszłości i teraźniejszości, w tym dotyczących mniejszości i wielokulturowości.Od 2001 roku w Muzeum w Gliwicach realizowałam autorski cykl poświęcony wielokulturowości miasta i regionu. W ramach cyklu zrealizowano projekty: Ormianie gliwiccy (2001), Ewangelicy w Gliwicach (2003), Żydzi gliwiccy (2005), Gliwiccy Kresowianie (2011), Schönwald – wieś z przeszłości (2013). Działania te obejmowały programy badawcze, wystawy, publikacje, a także konferencje, pokazy, spotkania itp. Każdy z tych projektów jest skrótowo opisany.W zakończeniu zwracam uwagę na znaczenie współpracy etnografa muzealnika w muzeum wielodziałowym z przedstawicielami innych nauk humanistycznych oraz na wpływ tego typu projektów na społeczność lokalną. Discovering local cultural heritage is one of the main tasks of regional museums. After the changes of the late twentieth century, it became possible to test and offer many previously unspoken aspects of the past and the present, including those related to minorities and multiculturalism. Since 2001, the Museum in Gliwice has been carrying out an original cycle on multiculturalism of the city and of the region. Within the cycle there have been launched the following projects: Gliwice Armenians (2001), Evangelicals in Gliwice (2003), The Jews of Gliwice (2005), Gliwice Kresowianie (pre-war population of the Eastern Poland) (2011), Schönwald – the Village of the Past (2013). These activities included research programs, exhibitions, publications, and also conferences, shows, meetings, etc. Each of these projects is briefly described. In conclusion, I want to emphasize the importance of cooperation of the museum ethnographer in the multi department museum with representatives of other humanities, and the impact of such projects on the local community.
