The article presents a selected fragment of the biography and sporting career of Władysław Zgorzelski. The years 1918–1939, i.e. the beginning of his military career in the Polish Army, service in the 1st Light Cavalry Regiment, 1st Horse Artillery Squadron, 15th Poznań Lancers Regiment, 6th, 5th and 4th Mounted Rifles Regiments were selected as the time period. This period also saw his most active sporting career, mainly in the colours of the 15th Poznań Lancers Regiment. A number of sporting achievements are presented, including a two-time Army Championship. The article closes with his service in the mounted rifles regiments and the increasing burden of service that forced him to part with professional sport.

Artykuł prezentuje wybrany fragment życiorysu oraz sportowej kariery Władysława Zgorzelskiego. Jako przedział czasowy wybrano lata 1918–1939, czyli początki kariery wojskowej w WP, służbę kolejno w 1 Pułku Szwoleżerów, 1 Dywizjonie Artylerii Konnej, 15 Pułku Ułanów Poznańskich, 6, 5 i 4 Pułku Strzelców Konnych. Na ten okres przypada również najaktywniejsza kariera sportowa, głównie w barwach 15 Pułku Ułanów Poznańskich. Przedstawione zostały liczne sportowe osiągnięcia, w tym dwukrotne Mistrzostwo Armii. Ostatnim elementem artykułu jest służba w pułkach strzelców konnych i coraz większe obciążenie służbą, które wymusiło rozstanie ze sportem zawodowym.
