Internet buduje obecnie nową jakościowo przestrzeń społeczną, umożliwiając instytucjom oświatowym, takim jak szkoła zwiększenie obszaru oddziaływań edukacyjnych. Obecność szkoły w sieci przejawia się przede wszystkim poprzez strony internetowe i profile w serwisach społecznościowych, ale może przybierać formę bardziej zindywidualizowanych działań i aktywności uczniów i nauczycieli. Współczesne biblioteki szkolne odpowiadając na potrzeby uczniów i wymagania nowoczesnego procesu kształcenia powinny starać się, aby ich usługi były w wyraźnie większym niż dotychczas stopniu dostępne online. Ich użytkownicy czyli młodzież szkolna stanowi bowiem najliczniejszą i najaktywniejszą grupę wśród wszystkich internautów. Bibliotekarze szkolni ściśle współpracując z nauczycielami mają szansę stworzyć wartościową, bazującą na nowych technologiach przestrzeń edukacyjną, umożliwiającą w szerokim zakresie indywidualizację procesu kształcenia. Drugim ważnym zadaniem bibliotek jest kształcenie kompetencji informacyjnych, w tym przygotowanie uczniów do efektywnego i zgodnego z prawem korzystania z bogatych zasobów informacji cyfrowej. W artykule zaprezentowane zostały wyniki badań ankietowych dotyczących oczekiwań, jakie w związku z działalności bibliotek szkolnych mają przyszli nauczyciele a obecnie studenci kierunków pedagogicznych. Wskazano kierunki przemian, które sugerują respondenci w kontekście procesu cyfryzacji polskiej szkoły.

Internet is currently creating a qualitatively new social space, allowing educational institutions, such as schools, to increase the area of educational interactions. The presence of schools in the network manifests itself primarily through the websites and profiles on social networking sites, but it may take the form of more individualized actions and activities of students and teachers. Today's school libraries, responding to the needs of students and the demands of the modern education process, should strive to make their services more available online. Their users, i.e. students, constitute the largest and most active group among all Internet users. School librarians, working closely with the teachers, have the opportunity to create valuable educational space, based on new technologies and enabling a wide range of individualization of the learning process. Another important task is to educate library information literacy, including training students to effectively and lawfully use the rich resources of digital information. The article presents the results of surveys on expectations concerning school libraries, conducted among future teachers who are current students of Pedagogy. The article shows the propositions of changes suggested by respondents in the context of digitization of the Polish school.
