Przedmiotem niniejszych rozważań uczyniono pracę. Uznawana jest ona nie tylko jako swoisty fenomen kulturowy i cywilizacyjny , ale także jako kategoria uniwersalistyczna, wyprowadzona z wartości, tkwiących w pracy. Wiatrowski określił pracę i jej uniwersalizm takimi wartościami jak „samoistna, autoteliczna, to znaczy taka, która ma zastosowanie zawsze i wszędzie”.

It is recognized not only as a kind of cultural and civilization phenomenon, but also as a univerasalistic category derived from the values foud in work described the work and its universality with values such as „autonomous, autotelic, i.e. one which applies always and everywhere” .
