The article discusses one special act of granting indulgence by Maciej Janina, the ordinary of the Przemyśl diocese in 1415. The bishop granted a twenty-day indulgence to those faithful who would worship the image of Christ’s Passion. The Przemyśl ordinary recommended to parish priests displaying during the mass (except for the funeral mass) a painting depicting Christ’s Passion. That indulgence is really unique, as it was very rare in medieval Poland to include venerating a painting or a sculpture among the conditions to grant indulgence.
