The article explores ways in which clergy and laity build the Communio Ecclesiae, which is in line with the current theme of synodality. The publication presents both the theological foundations of building an ecclesial community and practical guidelines or building princiles. First comes the explanation of the understanding of Communio Ecclesiae. Next, the issue of “building” is dealt with, with attention being paid to its correlation with the idea of the Church, which is God’s building. The third point distinguishes and discusses four areas of cooperation: liturgical and sacramental, administrative and economic, along with charitable and formative. Finally, the principles of building Communio Ecclesiae are indicated and these focus on the conditions of the Church in Poland, which are essentially of a practical nature. Building an ecclesial community should be accompanied by an awareness of participation in the saving mission of Christ and a conviction of the multiplicity and diversity of services and tasks in the Church. Building up of the Communio Ecclesiae is not an end in itself; rather, it is a path leading to the salvation of the faithful and the fulfilment of the Church in the kingdom of God in eschatological times.

Artykuł dotyczy problematyki budowania Communio Ecclesiae przez duchownych i świeckich. Podjęte zagadnienie wpisuje się w aktualną tematykę synodalności. Publikacja przedstawia zarówno teologiczne podstawy budowania wspólnoty kościelnej, jak również praktyczne wskazania – zasady. Najpierw wyjaśniono rozumienie Communio Ecclesiae. Następnie zajęto się kwestią „budowania”, zwracając uwagę na jej korelację z ideą Kościoła, który jest Bożą budowlą. W kroku trzecim wyróżniono i omówiono cztery obszary współpracy: liturgiczno-sakramentalny, administracyjno-gospodarczy, charytatywny i formacyjny. Na koniec wskazano zasady budowania Communio Ecclesiae. Uwzględniają one uwarunkowania Kościoła w Polsce i mają zasadniczo praktyczny charakter. Budowaniu wspólnoty eklezjalnej winna towarzyszyć świadomość współudziału w zbawczej misji Chrystusa oraz przeświadczenie o wielości i różnorodności posług i zadań w Kościele. Tym samym budowanie Communio Ecclesiae nie jest celem samym w sobie, ale drogą prowadzącą do celu, jakim jest osiągnięcie przez wiernych zbawienia i wypełnienie się Kościoła w królestwie Bożym w czasach eschatologicznych.

Artykuł ukazuje drogę dialogu ekumenicznego, jaką podjęły poszczególne Kościoły i Wspólnoty kościele na rzecz jedności chrześcijan. W procesie dialogu ważne jest zrozumienie teologii, a zwłaszcza eklezjologii i soteriologii różnych wspólnot wierzących. Istotną rolę ku pojednaniu odgrywa chrzest – wydarzenie fundamentalne dla większości wspólnot chrześcijańskich. Rezultatem prowadzonego dialogu jest dokument Sakrament chrztu znakiem jedności. Deklaracja Kościołów w Polsce na progu trzeciego tysiąclecia o wzajemnym uznaniu chrztu przez Kościół katolicki i sześć innych Kościołów działających w Polsce. Należy zatem przeanalizować naukę Kościoła katolickiego na temat chrztu i odkryć w niej te (wspólne) elementy, które pozwoliły na podpisanie Deklaracji. Dla katolików nieodzowne źródło znajomości prawd wiary i miejsca sakramentów w życiu ochrzczonych stanowi katechizm. Znajomość nauczania własnej wspólnoty wiary jawi się jako warunek właściwego zrozumienia przesłania innych Kościołów. Świadomość własnej tożsamości religijnej jest gwarantem nawiązania właściwie rozumianego dialogu z inną wspólnotą wierzących. Odkrycie jedności w różnorodności to wielkie wyzwanie ekumenizmu.

The article shows the path of ecumenical dialogue that individual Churches and church communities have taken for the sake of Christian unity. In the process of dialogue, it is important to understand the theology – in particular the ecclesiology and soteriology - of the various communities of believers. Baptism, a fundamental event for most Christian communities, plays an important role in reconciliation. The result of the dialogue is the Declaration on mutual recognition of baptism by the Catholic Church and six other Churches operating in Poland. It is therefore necessary to analyze the teaching of the Catholic Church on Baptism and discover in it those (common) elements which made it possible to sign the Declaration. For Catholics, the Catechism is an indispensable source of knowledge of the truths of faith and the place of the sacraments in the life of the baptized. Knowledge of the teaching of your own faith community is a prerequisite for proper understanding the message of other churches. The awareness of one’s own religious identity is a guarantee of establishing a properly understood dialogue with another community of believers. The discovery of unity in diversity is the great challenge of ecumenism.

Nowadays the Church has a great challenge connected with taking up evangelization again. It must be an answer to signs of the times, to the needs of present people and to the conditions in which the man lives. In these complex and difficult realities there is a need for Christians capable of sharing their faith, who will keep on preaching with fervour and apostolic enthusiasm. As it is indicated in Instrumentum laboris, catechists can cope with this task. They are the subjects of passing on the faith and they are responsible for its preaching. In the document there are suggestions about how they should carry out their mission. However, they need more detailed elaboration. All these matters are to be discussed during 13th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. We must hope that they will meet specific solutions, becoming an impulse to greater involvement in passing on the faith by catechists participating in the new evangelization through their service.
