Of all the New Testament books, the Letter to the Hebrews emphasizes the function of God as the builder the most. This article analyzes only verse 3 : 4. Both the Polish and English translations of Hebrews 3:4 apply the term “builder” or the active participle of “to build” to God.  In the way of contextual analysis, the author justifies a translation of Hebrews 3 : 4 that emphasizes God’s conceptual design in creating the universe.

Spośród pism Nowego Testamentu funkcja Boga jako budowniczego jest najbardziej eksponowana w Liście do Hebrajczyków. W przedstawionym tutaj opracowaniu omówiono jedynie werset 3, 4. Zarówno przekłady polskie, jak i angielskie stosują tam do Boga termin „budowniczy” lub jego pochodne odsłowne. W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono – na drodze analizy kontekstowej – uzasadnienie dla przekładu Hbr 3, 4 eksponującego zamysł koncepcyjny oraz kunszt Boga przy tworzeniu wszechświata.
