Celem artykułu jest określenie rodzajów grup ryzyka występujących na rynku zbóż oraz przedstawienie możliwości ograniczania wystąpienia zjawisk niepożądanych. Pojawia się kwestia: w jakim stopniu podmioty rynku zbóż, a w szczególności producenci, powinni sami neutralizować występujące ryzyko, a kiedy powinni oczekiwać wsparcia ze strony instytucji państwowych. Coraz powszechniej zastosowanie znajdują instrumenty finansowe w postaci instrumentów pochodnych. Kontrakty terminowe na produkty rolne przenoszą ryzyko cenowe z producentów na pośredników rynku i poprawiają płynność rozliczeń kontraktów zawieranych na rynku zbóż.

The purpose of the article is to determine the kinds of risk groups existed on cereal market and presenting possibilities of limiting the undesirable phenomena. An issue appears: what way the subjects of cereal market, producers in particular, should alone neutralize the appearing risk, and when should expect support from the state institutions. More often financial instruments find the solution for agricultural hedgers. Derivatives, such as: forward, future and option contracts are transferring the price risk from producers to intermediaries of the market and are improving the flow of contracts on the cereal market.

The aim of the research, the results of which are presented in this paper, was to determine how agricultural derivatives imply financial results of the company dealing with wheat trading. The article consists of two parts. The first one presents possibility for applying agricultural derivatives in Poland. The second part contains the results of the research demonstrating the impact of agricultural derivatives on price hedging in the course of wheat trading based on chosen company.

Celem badań, których wyniki zostały przedstawione w pracy, było określenie, jaki wpływ mają zastosowane instrumenty pochodne na wyniki finansowe przedsiębiorstwa handlowego w obrocie zbożem. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części. W pierwszej przybliżono zagadnienia dotyczące wykorzystania instrumentów pochodnych na rynku rolnym w Polsce. Druga część zawiera wyniki badań dotyczących możliwości wykorzystania zabezpieczenia ceny transakcji w handlu zbożem.

L’obiettivo delle considerazioni è di definire l’ambito e i principi di concessione di aiuti di Stato nella gestione del rischio in agricoltura. L’autrice ha analizzato le soluzioni normative contenute nella legislazione primaria e secondaria dell’UE. Nella parte conclusiva, essa ha affermato che la specificità dell’agricoltura con i rischi che comporta necessita di un sostegno pubblico. Tuttavia, la procedura di concessione di aiuti dovrebbe essere adeguatamente determinata e incentivata in quanto essi hanno un carattere universale e sono facilmente accessibili. Ciò può portare a ostacolare gli agricoltori, rendendoli meno interessati ad agire in maniera indipendente, a intraprendere contromisure volte a gestire il rischio, scegliendo strumenti giuridici adeguati. Da un punto di vista economico, fornire gli aiuti in questione porta a un cambiamento nel rapporto tra capitale in agricoltura in relazione ad altri fattori di produzione.

The aim of the deliberations was to determine the scope and principles of granting public aid to support risk management in agriculture. The normative solutions contained in primary and secondary EU law have been analysed. It has been concluded that the specificity of agriculture and the accompanying risk require public support. The granting of aid should be properly shaped and stimulated. This is because of its universality and easy accessibility, which may reduce farmers’ efforts to take independent remedial measures when selecting legal risk management instruments. From an economic point of view, the granting of this aid leads to a change in the relationship between the equity and other production factors in agriculture.

Celem rozważań jest określenie zakresu i zasad udzielania pomocy publicznej w celu wspierania zarządzania ryzykiem w rolnictwie. Przeanalizowano rozwiązania normatywne zawarte w prawie pierwotnym i wtórnym UE i stwierdzono, że specyfika rolnictwa i towarzyszące mu ryzyko wymagają wsparcia publicznego. Przyznawanie pomocy powinno być jednak odpowiednio kształtowane i stymulowane. Wynika to z jego uniwersalności i dostępności, co może zmniejszyć wysiłki rolników w zakresie poszukiwania niezależnych środków i wyboru prawnych instrumentów zarządzania ryzykiem. Z ekonomicznego punktu widzenia przyznanie tej pomocy prowadzi do zmiany relacji między kapitałem własnym a innymi czynnikami produkcji w rolnictwie.
