he article discusses the rural cultural landscape of the Nowe Miasto district. However, folkloric elements relating to the description of settlement processes and the material culture of particular eras (both monuments and objects that do not have this status) was not included. At the same time, it is based on the assumption prevalent in Polish academia that the rural landscape is a space historically shaped by human activity, containing products of civilization (a historical rural layout, a historical urban layout) and natural elements (avenues, parks, other landscape elements). The rural landscape which is defined as cultural heritage can be read, observed, felt and understood, consisting of elements such as buildings, roads, water, places of worship and memory, as well as engineered structures. It is both a landscape of rural buildings, as well as an agricultural (production) landscape. Aside from the discussion of individual elements of the cultural landscape, this article also presents conclusions regarding the condition of their preservation and their possible maintenance or reconstruction

The article presents the changes of phonetics in the contemporary Lubawa dialect which took place over the period of fifty years in a new local dialect of the town. The lexical items included in the monograph The Vocabulary of Warmia and Mazuria were compared to a dialect lexicon collected in Lubawa and its vicinity, also in Rumian, a village that once used to belong to the demesnes of Lubawa. The lexis also stems from The Stories by Klimek from Dybzak by B. J. Standara. The informers belonged to the oldest generation. The vocabulary domains pertaining to breeding and farming have only survived to an inconsiderable extent.

Przypadająca w tym roku pięćdziesiąta rocznica koronacji figury Matki Boskiej Lipskiej czczonej na lubawskiej ziemi od XIII wieku skłania do spojrzenia na jej kult. Artykuł opisuje historię kultu Lipskiej Pani począwszy od jego pojawienia się aż do dnia dzisiejszego, przebieg uroczystości odpustowych i koronacyjnych w 1969 roku oraz związane z nią trudności. Zawiera także strukturę pielgrzymów lipskiego sanktuarium, opis figury Matki Bożej Lipskiej oraz patronat z nią związany. Jubileusz koronacji dokonanej przez kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego wyraża aktualność wielowiekowego kultu Matki Bożej z Lip.

This year’s 50th anniversary of the Coronation of Virgin Mary’s figure from Lipy, which has been worshipped on the Land of Lubawa since the 13th century, persuades us to think about its cult. The article describes the history of Virgin Mary’s from Lipy cult – from its beginning until now, the course of the indulgence and crowning celebrations in 1969 as well as the difficulties connected with it. It also includes the structure of pilgrims from the Sanctuary in Lipy, the description of the Virgin Mary’s from Lipy figure and its patronage. The jubilee of the celebration of the Coronation performed by Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński shows that the old cult of Virgin Mary from Lipy, near Lubawa is still popular.
