Artykuł stanowi głos w debacie na temat percepcji stosunków wyznaniowych w Ameryce Łacińskiej, jaką zainicjował wybór kard. Jorge Bergoglio na biskupa Rzymu. Tekst ma charakter prolegomeny do problematyki zmiany religijnej, która dokonała się w tymże regionie świata w ostatnim półwieczu. Opisuje nowych aktorów na religijnej scenie – ruchy ewangelikalne – ich specyfikę, źródła sukcesu, efekty działania, a także możliwe scenariusze rozwoju w najbliższej przyszłości.

This paper is a voice in the debate on the religious landscape in Latin America, initiated after Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was elected Pontiff. I give an outline of the aspects of religious change in this region in the last few decades. I present new actors – evangelical movements – its general characteristics, reasons why they succeeded, output of their activity and some possible scenarios for the near future.
