The term mentoring can be understood within several paradigms: the transfer of a particular set of values, skills and norms adopted by society; an interaction of experienced and less-experienced person; or, nowadays, as a learning partnership. A mentor is a person who supports the developmental progress of an adult or non-adult mentee. The aim of this contribution is to examine the current state of knowledge in the field of mentoring which is reflected in current studies describing the mentoring of university students. Studies published over the last 5 years published in the English language in the Web of Knowledge database were analysed. The studies were divided into and analyzed in three areas: mentoring focused on solving study tasks, mentoring focused on practice, and mentoring focused on students with special needs. The following subjects were explored: categories of mentoring functions in terms of behavioral interventions; the theoretical background socio-ecological and developmental approach; a focus on psychosocial mentoring or study/professional development; the implementation of mentoring programs or natural mentoring; and people in the role of mentor and their position in relation to university.

This paper aims to explore the relationship between the negative emotionality of international students and overall life satisfaction. It also wants to verify the role of information distortion - the frequency of bullshitting - in this relationship. This variable represents a strategy whose goal is to avoid unpleasant consequences or to impress other people. The research was conducted in the second half of 2022 with a sample of 136 Ukrainian students. This makes up about 10% of Ukrainian students studying at the University of Prešov in Slovakia. The Pearson correlation coefficient showed a significant negative relationship between life satisfaction and negative emotionality. There were also significant positive relationships found between life satisfaction and frequency of bullshitting as well as between negative emotionality and frequency of bullshitting. The results confirmed the mediational effect of frequency of bullshitting in the relationship between negative emotionality and life satisfaction. Further research could study information misleading as a manifestation of dysfunctional coping with negative emotions. At the same time, in the process of adaptation of foreign students observe their resilience. Another line of research could address the closedness/openness of international student communities and their correlates. The practical implications of the research are directed towards international student counselling and adaptation programs.

Procrastination is a phenomenon that causes negative consequences in terms of fulfillment of study obligations, study and work results. Educational psychology can examine its predictors and consequences in order to prevent this dysfunctional behavioral strategy - and such research has been found to be important especially among future teachers. Studies show that self-control as well as motivation could be the two pathways underlying the impact of conscientiousness on procrastination (Gao, Zhang, Xu, Zhou & Feng, 2021), or are considered important predictors of procrastination (Magdová, Fuchsová & Berinšterová, 2021). It has also been found that the variables of self-concept are involved differently in the level of procrastination of more/less conscientious university students (Berinšterová, Bozogáňová, Magdová, Kapová & Fuchsová, 2021). Based on these results, the aim of the contribution was to verify the linear model of procrastination for two groups of university students – more conscientious and less conscientious. The sample was divided into more conscientious and less conscientious students by the visual binning method. Descriptive analysis, correlational analysis, T-test and linear regression were conducted in SPSS 20. The results point to the importance of self-concept in relation to procrastination. Also, the connection between self-control and procrastination needs to be explored with regard to the motivational aspects of personality. Research has also pointed to a close relationship between self-control and conscientiousness.
