The article deals with the problems to conceptualize social ethics of democratic transformation in post-soviet society. Special attention is paid to the role of European social standards in the process of realizing the European civilization choice of Ukraine. It is also stressed here that European social standards remain a key factor making a project of European integration so attractive for the majority of Ukrainians. Special role of a stage by stage solution of a so-called “social approach” on the way to all-rounded humanization of state-forming strategies of European nations and of the system of European international relations in general is being stressed here. The main emphasis is also laid on the historical role of common European values. An attempt is made here to elucidate the above problems in correspondence with the ones expressed in the National report “Civilizational choice of Ukraine – a paradigm of cognition and a strategy to act” (2016), prepared by the leading scholars of Ukrainian Academy of Science. It is also accentuated that decisive factor to achieve success in joining the space of European unity is in integrity of understanding the ideas of Freedom and Justice. Since internal and external components of European freedom and justice are so closely intertwined that their separate interpretation in author’s opinion has no epistemological perspective. In conditions of world economic crisis the configuration, dynamics and content of integrational processes both in Europe and in post-soviet countries are being substantially changed while preserving basic system factors. Stable economic prosperity and social progress are becoming more and more dependent on world economic situation. At the same time, social welfare of citizens in some countries as well as their authority in contemporary world fully depend on moral-ethical maturity of national elites, level of confidence in society, general level of culture and the rate of individual responsibility of citizens for their future. With this view we consider the role of social ethics in general context of forming new theoretical and methodological basis of contemporary historical science. The utter importance of social problems for adequate understanding of crisis phenomena in political, economic and cultural life of the European Union after several stages of substantial expansion is being underlined. Special place of “European social model” in contemporary scientific and political discourse is being emphasized. It is underlined that nowadays we speak not only about rational and pragmatic correction of logic of international interaction but about radical change of all logic of internal social interaction, about formation and application of qualitatively new theory of making decisions. The above problems acquire special meaning in modern conditions of sharpening geopolitical competition concerning Ukraine. Real social result of Ukrainian civilizational choice directly influences the process of this competition, as it directly defines the position of both Ukrainian citizens and citizens of European Union countries. Modern financial and migration crisis of EU only enhances the influence of social factor on collective consciousness of “old” and “new” Europeans, frequently engendering rather dangerous tendencies in European life. The author tries to accentuate the importance of the idea of a serious social optimization strategy of European integration of Ukraine while considering qualitatively new external and internal conditions of National progress.

The article deals with a topical problem to harmonize the ever growing diversity of methodological tools for historical research and the necessity to deepen homogeneous understanding of a human being both as a subject and an object of a historical process. Humanforming function of culture requires active cooperation of different scientific approaches. In the conditions of rapid changes of real historical situation of civilizational choice it becomes extremely important to probe deep into essence of human nature. Controversial interpretation of human nature, the burden of mental stereotypes, the lack of racial and national tolerance remained the source of dangerous conflicts at all the stages of historical development. The potential of historical anthropology is far from being exhausted in a sense of methodological seifdevelopment of national historiography. Active segmentation and specification of general methodological outlook of a modern scientist sometimes leads to erosion in humanistic perception of a historical moment, to a neglect of a human being, to misunderstanding of his or her life world. In this sense a well-known Husserl’s concept “life world„ has a good perspective from the point of view of widening the horizons of modern historical epistemiology. In the paradigm of historical experience and historical consciousness the opposition human being — system acqures purely practical content in the process of investigating real evolution of European civil society. Postmodern “occupation of life world“ (Habermas) in conditions of globalization leads to reevaluation of possibilities of the system and corresponding underevaluation of the possibilities and the role of the human being. And this, in ist turn, leads to underestimation of human experience as the most important content of historical science.

The article deals with theoretical and methodological aspects of interaction between Ukraine and EU in the context of actual needs to transform legal consciousness. Epistemological potential of rational synthesis of Philosophy of History and philosophy of Law in the process of conceiving historical and cultural peculiarities of democratic reforms is accentuated here. A specific character of experience to apply logic and historical methods in comparative Jurisprudence and perspectives of its implementation in the course of studying historical processes are being analyzed. Peculiarities of inward connections and interactions of the ideas of priority of Law and social justice are also specified. Special attention is paid here to logical and ethical aspects of Law work, historical and methodological potencial of experience. Nowadays , when we observe livening up of interdisciplinary studies in the sphere of the Humanities with the accent on pluralization of theoretical and methodological basis of historical writing as well as growing interest to the questions of evolution of national historical grand narrative and the style of thinking, the importance of a given methodological segment is gradually increasing.

The problems of interdisciplinary interaction of History with other Social Sciences have already become the subject of a serious and consecutive scientific research. In this wide spectre of thoughts and opinions a special interest may be paid to considerations and evaluations of a complex process of forming interaction between History and Psychology. In Historiography there even have been formed a new direction, called Psychohistory. Besides, there have remained the achievements of previous generations of historians who didn’t avoid psychological aspects of world and national historical process in their works. It is not the subject matter of this article to elucidate in details the evolution of any particular stage in forming a given direction of modern historiography or any particular segment of psychological discourse. We rather propose a wider historiosophical generalization of problems and perspectives of the method to unite history and psychology. The author accentuates the necessity to enhance the level of general psychologic culture of both ruling elite and wide circles of ordinary public while taking into consideration the potential of communication in order to avoid conflicts. In this sense a separate methodological problem of great importance is psychologic culture of historians themselves as well as their readiness to use rich experience of Psychologic Science in their adequate research of the past. National Historiography is only in the beginning of the road to cognize social processes and historical peculiarities, especially of a recent past. But, at the same time, Ukrainian historic science has rich traditions of deep psychologic penetration into human dimension of national history. Effective combination of traditional experience and new methodological freedom of innovative historical thinking remains a serious methodological challenge on the new stage of national Historiography which requires the feeling of homogeneity of a historical process and, correspondingly, new understanding of homogeneity of historical conscience

This article continues the author’s study initiated in the previous number of a given collection. It also regards the specific problem of interconnection between history and psychology. However, in this sequel the main accent is on the style of thinking and value criteria of Benedetto Croce, who is an outstanding European theoretician and methodologist in the sphere of History, original philosopher, authoritative connoisseur of Culture and Arts, an unswerving supporter of high ideals of Italian Risorgimento. The concept of absolute historicity, grounded by the scholar on the basis of deep philosophic probation into mechanisms of historic thinking, had a significant impact both on further development of historic theory and on the formation of new understanding of a role of historic experience for social practice of a full-fledged democracy. Croce’s works help to comprehend the paradoxy of a phenomenon of historic consciousness, which is always modern by its nature. It remains modern irrespective of whatever temporal layers it resurrects at each particular moment of human life. Historic consciousness is an important component of psychologic reality of any human being and that is why it requires a subtle feeling of profound homogeneity. It’s important not to forget that historic consciousness preserves a considerable potentiality of an actual impact on human behaviour in particular and on communicative processes within the frames of society in general. It proves the fact that history is always with the human being and within him. That is why historic policy on the stage of democratic transformation should be especially grounded and should be characterized by a high level of psychologic culture
