The article discusses the issue of individual mentality and mechanisms that affect its formation based on the example of Belarusian mentality. It also discusses ideas on the formation of Belarusian mentality, its roots in pagan and Christian times, he people’s religious identification, territorial identification, dependence on nature and observance of established social norms. It also presents a contemporary image of Belarusian society.

W artykule wyjaśniono, czym jest mentalność jednostki, jakie mechanizmy kształtują mentalność Białorusinów. Poruszono również kwestie związane z formowaniem się mentalności Białorusinów w czasach pogaństwa i chrześcijaństwa, ich identyfikacją religijną, identyfikacją terytorialną, ich zależnością życia od przyrody oraz przestrzeganiem przez nich ustalonych norm społecznych. Przedstawiono także współczesny obraz białoruskiego społeczeństwa.
