This study deals with one of the themes of the defense war of 1939 and participation in it of the 2nd Light Tank Batalion, the 2nd armored battalion in Żurawica, which took part in the battle at Piotrków. The tanks from that battalion, withdrawn from battlefield on 5 september in the evening, were divided into two groups, which tried to retreat on their own, at the same time retaining operational readiness. The article attemps to retrace the fates of the group commanded by captain Józef Rejman right until the last skirmish at Milanówek. The author has collected all the existing accounts, pointing out a series of inaccuracies which have resulted in many misunderstanding and speculations.
