This study offers a possible approach to the analysis of theatrical costumes. In its first part, the author looks at clothing as the base used by costume designers to create theatrical costumes. She discusses the primary characteristics of clothing in terms of its semantic and symbolic potential, as well as the process through which a designer transforms it into one of the scenographic components of a staging/production. Then she applies these theses to Alžbeta Kutliaková’s costume designs in TEL3GRAM (Jozef Gregor Tajovský Theatre, 2024), Toni Wolff Realizes She Lost Millions (Uhol_92, 2023), and Humiliated and Bloodthirsty (Uhol_92, 2022)
