The aim of this article is to discuss issues related to myths, stereotypes and prejudices related to deaf people. In particular, the process formation of stereotypisation and prejudice has been analyzed. The basic issue that have been presented is the social functioning of the misinformation used by hearing people in relation to the deaf. In addition, attention challenge for special pedagogy the discussed phenomena by appropriate prevention. The whole of the deliberations was set in the theoretical framework.

The article shows the difficulties and problems that social workers encounter in their daily work duties. In the first part, the author outlines the theoretical foundations of the research, characterizing a social worker in terms of personality traits. This is the basis on which social workers can effectively cope with their duties in dynamically changing reality. A social worker is a profession that has a great responsibility for overcoming other people’s crisis. That is why it is invaluable in the face of civilization threats such as a pandemic. The second part of the article presents own research, the purpose of which was to find out about the opinions of social workers about their work in a pandemic time. Both advantages and disadvantages of working in the discussed period are presented.

Artykuł ukazuje trudności i problemy, które w codziennych obowiązkach zawodowych napotykają pracownicy socjalni. W pierwszej części autorka nakreśla teoretyczne podstawy badań, dokonując charakterystyki pracownika socjalnego pod kątem cech osobowościowych. Stanowi to bazę, na której osoby pracujące socjalnie mogą skutecznie mierzyć się z obowiązkami w dynamicznie zmieniającej się rzeczywistości. Pracownik socjalny to zawód, na którym ciąży ogromna odpowiedzialność za wyjście z kryzysu innych ludzi. Dlatego jest bezcenny w sytuacji zagrożeń cywilizacyjnych, jakimi jest m.in. pandemia. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono badania własne, których celem było poznanie opinii pracowników socjalnych na temat ich pracy w okresie pandemicznym. Przedstawiono zarówno zalety, jak i wady pracy w omawianym czasie.
