In October 28, 2012 in Ukraine are held parliamentary elections. In the elections participated 22 political parties. Election barriers could overcome 5 of them, including All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda” – a party with nationalistic views and slogans. During the elections campaign there were a lot of speculation about who supports and finances the party. Most Ukrainian politicians were convinced that Svoboda would not overcome 5% barrier. However, to their great astonishment Svoboda contrary to exit polls prediction, got 10.44% of voices and entered to Ukrainian Parliament and formed own fraction. Special attention should devote to analysis of pre-election program of the party. Some postulates of the program are intertwined with other opposition groups; others are like postulates of Party of Regions. Among the most controversial postulates are conducting a process of lustration, prohibition of Communist Party of Ukraine, prohibition of abortion, permission for possession of firearms, returning Ukraine nuclear status, change the status of Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea in to district, reduce energy dependence from Russia and strengthen cooperation with the Baltic-Black Sea axle.

In October 2012, there are held elections to the Supreme Soviet of Ukraine. The structure of the Ukrainian parliament includes five parties - the Party of Regions, the Communist Party, the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland", the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" and Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform “UDAR”. The last three - it's the opposition parties, who have united to overthrow the regime. However, neither the governing party nor the united opposition, do not have a majority in parliament. To make important decisions all of them have to negotiate. Dialogue between the parties is quite difficult, and sometimes not even possible. Representatives of parties provoke each other in the parliament, which often leads to fights in the grand stand. The main provocateur is the Party of Regions, and more often can be noticed in fight the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda". After the elections, against “Svododa” was a lot of different statements in racism and anti-Semitism. However, no matter what is said “Svoboda” tries to hold rating and refute unfair accusations. Amid falling ranking of the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland", “Svoboda” remains the main backbone of today's opposition and attempts to gain the trust of both the west and the east and south.
