In the modern world the process of ageing society, and the increasing number of people with disabilities is becoming more and more evident. Survey research constitutes the empirical element of the study and was conducted among customers from selected equestrian centres of Podkarpackie Province in order to identify their needs and expectations of this form of leisure and recreation. On the basic of the date obtained it has been found out that is a large interest in horseback riding especially among young people ( between the ages of 25-35). Equestrian centres are also frequently visited by older people, who take the opportunity to also involve children and young people in this beautiful sport. The study shows that the offer prepared for people with disabilities arouses great interest too. Offering hippotherapy gives the equestrian centre higher competitive advantage in relation to other centres, because it’s still rare and sought-after service.
