Dział finansowy, jako gospodarczy doradca władz uczelni, musi realizować wiele różnych zadań i funkcji. To właśnie na podstawie jego analiz zależności ekonomicznych występujących na uczelni oraz w jej otoczeniu władze uczelni podejmują decyzje ważne dla przyszłych losów tej jednostki gospodarczej. Rola i umiejscowienie działu finansowego na uczelni są uzależnione od wielu czynników, m.in. od wielkości i skali działania uczelni. Tym zagadnieniom poświęcony jest niniejszy artykuł.

The finance department, as economic adviser to the university authorities, must perform a large number of various tasks and functions. The department analyses of the economic relations existing at the University and its environment provide a basis for decisions by the university authorities that so often weigh the future of the HEI. The role and position of the finance department at the university are dependent on many factors, including the size and scale of the university. The article is dedicated to these issues.

In the last years the sector of non-public HEIs in Poland was very dynamic. Their attractiveness is demonstrated by a constantly growing number of schools and their increasing revenues. However, statistical forecasts show that within 10 next years the number of students will drop by around one third. Non-public HEIs will have to face growing competition which will not only be a result of the coming baby bust but also of a competition from foreign schools and from public HEIs. In order to grow further or only to keep their market position HEIs have to occur in the context of internationalization. Currently in Poland, seeing as these aspects is becoming increasingly important. But still, the Polish higher education system faces huge challenges. That’s why the article is dedicated to the selected aspects of the internationalization of Higher Education Institutions in Poland.
