Hall is a space in a building, that functions as a link. It connects the living area with the space designated for animals. It is here, where two different environments meet, that to some extent function together on daily bases. But it is exactly the hall, where a specific connection is taking place. Scents come into contact here, they cross throughout hall from one part to another. Man must cover the distance of a hallway in order to enter the utility room, as well as an animal must run across the hall to get inside the homestead. That kind of metaphor of a hall can be transferred to the idea of a borderland. Borderland can be seen precisely as that sort of a hall, where cultures encounter each other, exchange experiences and get back to their own realities.
