The aim of this paper is to present the aims of the continental blockade, outlining the assumptions and conditions that created it. It will also show its impact on the European economy with emphasis on the situation in Britain and the impact of the policy internationally. The system will be presented against the background of the conditions in both the economic theories behind it and the political-military-social situation of the time.

Celem pracy jest ukazanie celów blokady kontynentalnej, przedstawienie założeń i uwarunkowań, które doprowadziły do jej stworzenia. Ukaże także wpływ na europejską gospodarkę z naciskiem na sytuację w Wielkiej Brytanii oraz oddziaływanie polityki – rozumieniu nacisków dyplomatycznych w celu poszerzania granic oraz kompetencji – na gruncie międzynarodowym. System ten zostanie przedstawiony na tle uwarunkowań zarówno w dziedzinie teorii ekonomicznych stojących za nim, jak i ówczesnej sytuacji polityczno-militarnej.
