The following paper is the analysis of literary works of Michas Stralcow - Belarussian writer, poet, literary critic and translator. On the basis of his writing from the 1960’s a thesis can be drawn that Stralcow was deeply devoted to literature. Although copying the best Belarusian, Russian and universal traditional pieces, the writer managed to keep his originality.

The aim of the present article is presenting the qualities of the artistic lyricism appearing in the epic pieces of the Belarusian writer Mikhas Stralcov. At the beginning of the article the authoress refers to the issues of lyricism in the Belarusian literature, often discussed in academic writing. In the subsequent part of the article, on the basis of 19 tales and 2 stories by Stralcov she presents the artistic qualities of lyricism manifesting themselves in the texts of the prose writer, and she confirms all her ascertainments with the quotations from the pieces under analysis.

У артыкуле прадстаўлена выдавецкая серыя кнiг сучаснай беларускай лiтаратуры ў перакладзе на польскую мову, выдадзеных Калегiумам Усходняй Еўропы iмя Яна Новака-Езяранскага ў 2006–2011 гг.

One of the aims of many non-governmental organizations, foundations and societies in Poland is to promote modern literature of Central and Eastern Europe, including Belarusian literature. Eastern Europe Collegium founded in 2001 by Jan Nowak-Jeziorański is actively involved in education, culture and publishing. The foundation publishes the books, CDs and DVDs in various languages, including the Belarusian language. The article presents a series of Belarusian books translated into Polish published by Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Eastern Europe Collegium Publishing House in 2006–2011.

The present article came into being with a view to the 75th birthday anniversary of thealready deceased outstanding prose writer, poet, translator and literary critic Michas Stralcow, tobe celebrated on 14 February 2012. The article constitutes a review of the whole literary output onthe part of the brilliant creator of the Belarusian literature of the second half of the twentiethcentury. Highlighted in it is the fact that Michas Stralcow was an extraordinarily talented man ofletters who fully demonstrated his potential in prose, poetry and essay writing.
