L'omelia patristica e l'entrare nella richezza del mondo divino, il quale si effettua per mezzo delfiniziazione alla Sacra Scrittura. L'omelia era intesa come l'evento salvifico irrepetibile che teneva luogo nell’asemblea liturgica. Similmente l'omelia era intesa nella Sinagoga d'Israele. I testi patristici delle omelie, che sono pervenuti ai nostri tempi, sono quasi „una partitura" del canto fatto dai maestri antichi della predieazione della parola di Dio.

The author cites first the various definitions of the theologian: 1) mystic who was initiated into the life of the Holy Trinity and received the grace to transmit this initiation to others; 2) mystic who knows how to convey his religious experience to others; 3) expert in theological literature, believer or not, with an academic title. Then he presents the current tasks of the Catholic theologian, understood as a believer expert in theology: 1) derived from revelation answer to questions posed by life; 2) apology of revealed truth and of the Church; 3) finding a new language for the new evangelization; 4) evangelical view of empire of evil, in which we are immersed.

Autor przytacza najpierw różne definicje teologa: 1) mistyk, który został wtajemniczony w życie Trójcy Świętej i otrzymał łaskę przekazu tego wtajemniczenia innym; 2) mistyk, który umie przekazać innym swoje religijne przeżycia; 3) niekoniecznie wierzący znawca literatury teologicznej z tytułem naukowym. Następnie przedstawia aktualne zadania teologa katolickiego, rozumianego jako wierzącego znawcy teologii: 1) czerpana z objawienia odpowiedź na pytania, jakie stawia życie; 2) apologia prawdy objawionej oraz Kościoła; 3) znalezienie nowego języka na potrzeby nowej ewangelizacji; 4) ewangeliczne spojrzenie na imperium zła, w którym jesteśmy zanurzeni.
