Article presents overview of the negative campaign in Poland between years 2005 and 2007. It concentrates on selected examples of negative campaign used in presidential election in 2007 and parliamentary election in 2005 and 2007. Brief introduction presents basic knowledge about negative campaign and used definitions. Next there’s a presentation of three cases from 2005 elections: the case of Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz accusations by “Orlen” parliamentary investigative commission, the case of Donald Tusk grandfather Wermaht military service and the negative television advertisement made by Prawo i Sprawiedliwość which uses empty fridge metaphor. This part is followed by presentation of new ways of negative campaign distribution which emerged as a result of internet web development and negative advertisements used in 2005-2007 period. The final part of article presents latest event which took place during the 2007 parliamentary elections: Platforma Obywatelska unsuccessful billboard campaign, tv adds war between PO and PiS and finally the attempt to compromise PO with accusations about planned hospitals selling’s.
