This article presents a review of the latest literature related to the COVID-19 pandemic being experienced by people around the world. Particular attention is paid to children and adolescents, their functioning during this crisis, and the possible psychosocial consequences of the pandemic. It also discusses difficulties met by children who are at greater risk of experiencing the consequences of current situation – children and adolescents from the poorest families, with mental disorders, with intellectual disabilities. It also turns out that the children of parents working in the socalled “first line” of the fight with coronavirus have specific problems during the pandemic. The literature suggests possible solutions - and the selected ones are described here – that may help minimize both the short-term and long-term psychosocial consequences of COVID-19 among children and adolescents.

An attempt to assess the structure of the studied families, patterns of their functioning, home and environment provision of toys stimulating children’s development, as well as verification of possible relationships between these variables was undertaken in this study. In order to give suggestion of typology of families there was an analysis of clusters. The study involved 126 families with children aged from 3 to 18 months. Following instruments were used: AHEMD for children aged 3-18 months and HOME for children aged 0-36 months “Interview and observation”. On the basis of the cluster analysis five types of families were distinguished – “Families with training parents”, “Families with caring parents”, “Families with parents overcoming difficulties”, “Families with elitist parents” and “Families with not-involved parents”.

The Order of Reformed Franciscans, a conservative and strict branch of Franciscans, flourished in Poland mainly on the territory of Wielkopolska and Małopolska. The convent in Chocz was chronologically the third foundation in the Wielkopolska custody. Its founder was bishop Andrzej Lipski, who in order to strengthen Catholicism not only brought the Reformed Franciscans to the place but also built a collegiate church, thereby creating a complex of religious institutions in one part of the  town.In the years 1636-1639 there was a conflict between the Reformed Franciscans and the Bernardines. As a result the former were made to leave Chocz for a time. Upon return they began the construction of a new, brick church and convent (1699-1725 r.) It is worth noting that among others, Brother Mateusz Osiecki participated in the realization of the convent buildings. The church was erected in the recessed variant of the wall-pillar system and shows affinity to the Reformed Franciscan Church in Kalisz. Moreover, it is an important example of the sacral buildings of the Wielkopolska province of Reformed Franciscans. The convent was secularized in 1864 by decree of emperor Alexander II. The monks regained their right of ownership only in 1920. First, the convent buildings were used by the Order of Sisters the Shepherdesses of Divine Providence, and only later again by the Franciscans. At present the whole complex is under major restoration works.

The work concerns the role of childhood experiences in the development of mental health. It is believed that regardless of the emotional relationship and genetic predispositions, appropriately selected stimulants in the environment may also influence the young child’s development. In the first periods of child’s life the experiences gained in family pay as crucial character as the environment where this development takes place. It is emphasized in literature that appropriate intellectual and social development of a child is related with the influence of the external environment as long as it is available and logically designed. In Poland only a few studies concern families with small children – they are usually carried out by sociologists, moreover, there is also very little data on the determinants of the development of children and possible role of these for mental health. It was therefore attempted in this work to describe possible childhood experiences, which may play role in the development of mental health in childhood and adolescence or adulthood.

Church pews are elements of equipment that often have very high historical, artistic and scientific values as antique carpentry. Usually, however, less attention is paid to them, most often they are not entered in the register of monuments individually, and they are omitted in studies. For these reasons, they frequently and quietly disappear from sacred interiors, similarly to the historic floors. This is evidenced by the photographs from the Catalog of Art Monuments and comparisons to the current state. While examining the historic woodwork in northern Mazovia, attention was drawn to the historic pews in the church in Czerwin. After preliminary research, it turned out that they have a very high level of value. They have artistic and folk forms and are finished in a way characteristic of antique sacred furniture, i.e. with a mazer. Queries in this direction have shown that in the region of northern Mazovia, including, inter alia, Ostrołęka and Łomża, a woodcarving workshop operated at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, which made furnishings for other churches, including Słucz and Drozdowo near Łomża. The workshop was so interesting that it had not been known at all so far, and its existence was not even recognised.
