On the 22nd of September 2006 Polish Parliament passed an Act introducing new rules of supporting agriculture and rural areas from the EU funds for the Common Agricultural Policy.
Nowadays cooperative banks in Poland tend to consolidate in order to increase the average, basic values (balance sum, prime funds). Consequently, this sector will be by far less diversified than the sector of the commercial banks. Cooperative banks are transforming into a classic, homogeneous group of powerful local banks, known in the countries of the European Union, which supply the bank system with funds.
