The predominant goal of this articleis to perform a semantic analysis of the notion of convincing. The initial part of the text in question is oriented towards distinguishing lexical items incorporating the przekonać verb. They are as follows: ktośa przekonał kogośb (do tego), żeby_, ktośa przekonał kogośb czymśx do czegośy, cośa przekonało kogoś do czegośb, ktośa przekonał kogośb (o tym), że_, ktośa przekonał kogośb do kogośc and ktoś przekonał się (o tym), że_. Afterwards, one of them is discussed in detail, namely - ktośa przekonał kogośb (do tego), żeby_. The analysis is proceeded by the attempt of the author to define the examined sequences.

The initial part of the text in question is oriented towards distinguishing lexical items incorporating the verb skłonić. They are as follows: cośx skłoniło kogoś do czegośy, ktośx skłonił kogośy, żeby_, ktośx skłonił kogośy czymśa do czegośb and ktoś skłania się ku czemuś. Then, the meaning of one of them is discussed in detail, namely – cośx skłoniło kogoś do czegośy. The aforementioned considerations are proceeded by the attempt of the author to define the examined sequences.

Celem artykułu jest analiza semantyczna wyrażenia cośx skłoniło kogoś do czegośy. Na początku tekstu zostały wyodrębnione jednostki leksykalne z czasownikiem skłonić: cośx skłoniło kogoś do czegośy, ktośx skłonił kogośy, żeby_, ktośx skłonił kogośy czymśa do czegośb oraz ktoś skłania się ku czemuś. Następnie przeanalizowano znaczenie jednej z nich – cośx skłoniło kogoś do czegośy. Rozważania zostały podsumowane próbą zdefiniowania badanych ciągów.

The paper reports on the results of an examination of changes in Polish lexis over the past decade. Two different, multi-million corpora spanning the years 2011–2022 were contrasted with a subset of the balanced National Corpus of Polish, which covers the period until 2010. To this end, keyword analysis was employed, and words that are particularly characteristic of the more recent set of texts, compared to the older corpus, were automatically extracted. This allowed us to identify the most salient lexical trends which differentiate the language of the last decade from the one recorded in the National Corpus of Polish, and which point to significant extralinguistic socio-cultural, economic, and political shifts across time.
