The article presents the description of Polish interjections coming from two sources: from the teenage slang and the religious style. They provide contemprary Polish with interjections in the function of welcoming and/or saying goodbye, and speach limitators, as well as interjections in the function of maintaining communictive interaction (e. g. toasts) or breaking it. Among the class of interjections, there is a set of supporting the phatic function word units whose rank in the contemporary culture seems to be growing. The set is not extensive but often used.
Linguistics today, the first decade of XXI century, is a creative continuation of the earlier methodological paradigms, ie, historical linguistics, comparative linguistics, structuralistic linguistics, and the emergence of new paradigms in linguistics is open to other disciplines, like sociology, anthropology, psychology, etc. which gives, inter alia, cognitivism, on the one hand, and the other comunicativism.
In the article Exclamations as oral symptoms in the language of online discussion sites an attempt to explain the relation of forums’ texts to the opposition spoken language - written language has been made. It concerns the analysis of interjections’ function in those text which lies in placing them closer to the spoken language group where exclamations belong by definition. Exclamations, common in forums’ texts are electronically modified in a specific way. Their record, very variant, consists in letters re- or multiplication (it shows prosodic features such us: quantity and intonation), in stylization on English writing or speaking, in individual usage of capital letters, in quoting English words (okay, wow, sorry and so on), in labialising initial o (e.g. ło matko!). All this serves the intensification of exclamations’ emotional expression and create forums texts as stylized on a speech.
