The paper sheds light on the specificities of children’s literature translation with special reference to Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens by J.Barrie1 .For constrastive analysis we have taken A. Jivanyan’s translation (ՓիթրՓեն։ՓիթրՓենըՔենսինգթոնիայգիներում, 2014). We aim at highlighting the challenges of children’s literature translation and possible ways of overcoming them. For this research an interdisciplinary approach was taken.Equivalence as a translation requirement is dominant in the context of children’s literature translation. The target text should be child-oriented. One of the most challenging aspects in translation is dealing with the description of (the behaviourof) plants. The current study investigates the problem of maintaining stylistic equivalencespecifically in children’s literature.
