The aim of this article is to present the results of survey research that examined the familiarity with selected Krakow regionalisms. The study was inspired by the work of renowned linguists Jadwiga Kowalikowa and Sylwia Przęczek-Kisielak. The results obtained by the researchers were compared with those collected in April 2022. 100 respondents from a Krakow high school were asked about the meaning and associations of words such as “kaflarz,” “fliziarz,” “andrus,” “łor,” “krakus,” “bajok,” “lajkonik,” “pedel,” “centuś,” and “kinder.” It was revealed that some of these words are still known to the youth, while others are understood differently than the definitions provided in the publication titled “Powiedziane po krakowsku. Słownik regionalizmów krakowskich,” Krakow 2019. It is emphasized that the discussed issue has not been fully explored, and its research prospects are extensive.

This article addresses the issue of the vulgarization of young women’s language. It presents examples confirming the increased (and still growing) prevalence of vulgarisms in colloquial speech. The paper analyses an extensive collection of linguistic material gathered from the internet, featuring statements from women aged between 20 and 30. The study attempts to identify and describe the situations in which young Polish women most frequently use profane expressions. Concluding the discussion, a hypothesis is proposed regarding the changing perception of what constitutes vulgarity in language, along with an attempt to determine the extent of the phenomenon of de‑vulgarization of coarse and obscene vocabulary.

Niniejszy artykuł porusza problematykę wulgaryzacji języka młodych kobiet. Przywołano w nim przykłady potwierdzające zwiększony (i nadal rosnący) zasięg występowania wulgaryzmów w języku potocznym. Analizie poddano zebrany w przestrzeni internetowej obszerny materiał językowy, w którym znalazły się wypowiedzi kobiet między 20. a 30. rokiem życia. Podjęto próbę określenia oraz nazwania sytuacji, w których młode Polki najczęściej używają wyrażeń niecenzuralnych. Kończąc rozważania, postawiono hipotezę o zmianie postrzegania tego, co wulgarne w języku, wraz z próbą ustalenia zasięgu zjawiska dewulgaryzacji grubiańskiego i nieprzyzwoitego słownictwa.
